go about looking for love with their heads
or their hearts
instead of their spirits?

Re: Why do people
Wed, December 13, 2006 - 3:30 PMperhaps it is because fear crushes our spirits
and many if not most of us in this country
are indoctrinated with fear from a very young age
thats what the christen cults do
in my opinion!!!
just a theory -

Re: Why do people
Tue, January 2, 2007 - 2:54 AMThanks for taking me seriously.
It's sad.
But I am starting to shrug and remember that that's them
and I am about, well, something else. -

Re: Why do people
Tue, January 2, 2007 - 9:53 AMyes
i am about something else too
but i still struggle with fear
i remember as a child
i questioned the meanness the war
the hypocrisy of those
who called themselves christiens
the institution of racism
that my family is so steeped in
i recognized it all as lies
but as i aged in that culture
i became more callous
and weaker of heart and intuition
when i left out of disgust and desperation
i found a new strength
but there is still fear in my heart
and it has caused me great pain
but at least this fear and pain are my own
and that i WILL conquer
SO MOTE IT BE

Re: Why do people
Wed, March 21, 2007 - 12:00 AMare you saying that all christens are cults? Or are you just talking about the relatively tiny group of folks whom are ganged-up on by the same-old-again media and labeled cults?
If you're talkin about the christen religion, that's no "theory"! Systematic recording of patterns prove the analysis that religions, when they're subordinated to statecraft (even in a mono-theist state), make and perpetuate war, despite claims to the contrar. -

Re: Why do people
Tue, January 2, 2007 - 4:13 PMi think that maybe people don't know their spirit. we can point fingers at organized religion or we can accept that society really does not have a lot of tolerance for spiritual indulgence. let's face it, it just doesn't "pay off". for those who have turned there backs on the money god we find that there is more to life. many just aren't there yet.
my two cents: if you are looking for love with your spirit, you will find it. stick with it ergane and don't let the others get you down. -

i wonder, andrew...
Wed, March 21, 2007 - 12:06 AMAs one who is no longer looking for love (preferring to let such land on my shoulder), i have to wonder about this largely pre-ordained (how do ya like that word?) concept we so often uncritically subordinate to. i mean, often we're looking for *just one* person. But what if we saw that we could find love in *many*?
This is a topic sure to get people's goats!
Anyway, my praxis moves me to *avoid* monogamous relations all settled down and such. And to give, share, and receive angles on love when spirit, heart, intuition feels like allowing me to interpret such (or something like that)!

Re: Why do people
Tue, February 13, 2007 - 6:38 PMRumi agrees, and I with him:
"Your task is not to seek for love, but merely to seek and find all barriers within yourself that you have built against it."
"I honor the place in you where the entire universe resides. I honor the place in you of love, of light, of truth, of peace.
I honor the place within you, where, if you are in that place in you, and I am in that place in me, there is only one of us" -

Sat, March 10, 2007 - 2:47 PMi get it, it is like a knock knock ......who's there.....

Re: Why do people
Thu, March 22, 2007 - 10:53 AMto quote the Beatles song ".......& in the end, the love you take is equal to the love you make..."
maybe cliche, but so right on.
EVERYTHING you put out you will get back in your life..."good" or "bad".
also, i think its dangerous to equate love with sex or "getting" something (objects, praise, etc..)
so...put out love vibes, and you will recieve!!!

Re: Why do people
Mon, April 2, 2007 - 12:40 AMbecause such is the way we've been taught?
that's how i tend to think.
As for the very idea of "looking for love"...i think that's a value unique to developed societies which don't have a lot of love (i.e. love from still intact extended families).
So, what do you mean by "looking for love" and doing so with one's spirit, as opposed to (?) heart?

Re: Why do people
Thu, April 12, 2007 - 6:51 PMNo, i've been moved to see that there's a difference between "head" and "heart" as metaphors. "Head" often means mind, and mind is often equated, in many indigenous and Eastern-origined teachings anyways, with our social programming. If you're further interested in this topic, you might do well to read through _The Four Agreements_ by Toltec wisdom keeper, don Miguel Ruiz.
"Heart" is deeper for indigenous and Eastern-oriented folks, and i think this is a metaphor or poetic thing. But the poetic touches something deep nonetheless, the intuition. The deep resonance we "just feel" in certain situations or places. And calling such "heart" is an attempt to, i think, compare the depth-way in which the heart acts (throughout the body) with the depth-way of our intuitions.
But if this sounds like mere semantics to you, feel free to follow your "mind"! -

Re: Why do people
Fri, April 13, 2007 - 6:12 PMok i belive ya ....but fine art and folk are are too the same!! -
-
Re: Why do people
Mon, April 16, 2007 - 1:46 AMi disagree. To me, what passes as "fine art" these days is actually heavily commercial, while "folk art" (if that's what you're saying) is taking the place of the original idea of fine art...
